The year is 2075, exactly 66 years after the UK agreed to continue with carbon reduction policies post Brexit, and 25 years after the deadline to reduce these to ‘net zero’. Plagued with indecision and in absense of financial incentive, only ‘token’ schemes have materialised, promoting an image of green intention, but in reality doing little to halt the inevitable rise of water. The rich migrate to higher ground, whilst the working class, content with their social status and unwilling to part from their inseperable communities, are left to implement the British tradition of ‘make do and mend’. Using redundant items, adhoc structures and flotation devices to name but a few, inhabitants take on the challenge of elevating their homes to stay ahead global warming.
